Have you filed a bug on the kernel for the obvious kernel bug here?
(It's much better for people with the hardware to file the kernel bugs.)

What version of the installer is this? Sarge? Etch? Lenny daily build?

d-i allows you to blacklist broken modules to prevent udev from loading
them. You can do so by passing dmfe.blacklist=1 on the kernel command
line when booting the installer.
