Comments/Problems:

Everything goes fine until clock configuration.
The installer freezes in the "Setting up the clock" part, when it tries to
get the time from a network time server. The progress bar reaches 100% and
nothing happens thereafter.

I've tried several times, both in normal end expert mode. It seems the
only solution is to boot in expert mode and avoid the NTP query.

I've unsuccesfully tried to:
- change the default NTP server;
- use a different pc (an old IBM pentium pro workstation).

Switching to log console, the last message is always:
<date> clock-setup: <date> rdate: adjust local clock by N seconds

A 'ps' shows the following processes still hanging around:
udpgk --configure --force-configure clock-setup
/bin/sh /var/lib/dpkg/info/clock-setup.postinst
