Bug#423634: installation and bug report

Used CD ------- Debian GNU/Linux 4.0 r0 "Etch" - Official i386 NETINST Binary-1 20070407-11:29

Unable to boot from CD on this laptop - so used floppies initially. Wrote floppies with rwwrtwin

Can't swear to this (may have got from a mirror somewhere) - but I think the images came from

http://http.us.debian.org/debian/dists/etch/main/installer-i386/current//images/floppy/

I just followed the links in the online installation guide for floppies.

If it helps to track down the disks the file on boot.img called disk.lbl says :

System: debian-installer
Label: Boot floppy
Date: 20070308

Made a set of five disks - Boot - Root - CD and two net drivers.

Incidentally, I have given the wrong model for the laptop which is actually a Toshiba 210CT (rather than DT)

Can you give us details about the image you used?

You first mention booting with floppies then talk about the
"netinstall".

Was this the Debian installer for Etch or an older version?
