D-I web interface (was: debian-installer plans for the lenny cycle)

I think you will at least need to kick this off yourself. I would suggest 
writing a mail to debian-devel that explains the web frontend and the 
open issues that need to be resolved. You probably also need to explain 
somewhat how it is implemented and the environment in which it operates 
(e.g. could ssh, certificates, .htaccess, etc. be supported; the need to 
keep things "light").

You could then ask for suggestions how authentication, authorization, 
privacy could be ensured.

I think that with Phill Hand's "auto install" framework we already have a 
very good base to implement this: we'd just have to add an additional 
installation method ('web-install/enabled=true' maybe), with an 
(optional?) parameter for a password or other authentication scheme.
