Text based install worked very well. This is strange: the installer, and hence the hdd recognition code, is always the same, what changes is just the final interface (text or graphical).Anyone has an explanation for this?
I have some additional information about this problem: I tried this today on my other machine (Yakumo notebook) and took some screenshots (with my digital camera as I couldn't write to harddisk). While doing this I noticed something strange: After about 5 minutes of now activity suddenly the installer started. However I still was not able to mount the HDD. The messages were the same with the HP notebook, but I didn't want to try it here as I need this machine and didn't want to risk any problems here.

The "lost interrupt" messages appeared about once per minute. http://r2d2.stefanm.com/pict0369_small.jpg Messages on console 1 after the installer finally started: http://r2d2.stefanm.com/pict0370_small.jpg Complete dmesg output for the grapical installer: http://r2d2.stefanm.com/pict0373_small.jpg http://r2d2.stefanm.com/pict0374_small.jpg http://r2d2.stefanm.com/pict0375_small.jpg http://r2d2.stefanm.com/pict0376_small.jpg http://r2d2.stefanm.com/pict0377_small.jpg Bios messages: http://r2d2.stefanm.com/pict0378_small.jpgI hope this helps.
