Bug#397068: Re. Closed Bug#394766 (Usbstick preseeding error "Failed to retrieve the preconfiguration file") is not fixed

Package: debian-installer
Version: 20061103
http://people.debian.org/~joeyh/d-i/images/daily/hd-media/
Hi,

I can confirm that the above bug is not fixed in version 20061103 of images taken from http://people.debian.org/~joeyh/d-i/images/daily/hd-media/

I receive similar error messages to this user although I'm using the usb key as the storage point for the preseed.cfg file, location in directory /conf (NOT within the initrd.gz file).

This location is passed as an append attribute in the syslinux.cfg file (preseed/file=/hd-media/conf/preseed.cfg). I attach both the syslinux.cfg and preseed.cfg files.

The installation is on a Via EPIA MII 1200 pc using a Sandisk MiniCruzer key. Unfortunately, I cannot get easy access to the usb info but I'm willing to help test and proposed fixes.

Please advise.

Regards,
Andrew
