Comments/Problems:
Tries MMCONFIG and hangs. Requires pci=nommconf.
Fails to detect E/IDE hard disk and installation CD-ROM on IDE/PATA
port. The option all-generic-ide doesn't help. Are CONFIG_IDE and
CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDE not compiled in?
