Looks like the current weekly images are completely broken.
Could you try a daily image? If you really want a full CD image,
I'd suggest Beta 3.

I actually would like a netinstall image and Beta 3 netinstall is what I tried next but it failed also!
This one:

Please let us know if one of these works for you.

I'm going to try the daily netinstall build next. Btw, the machine is already running W2kSP4 from SATA RAID with everything, including the net working there so I atleast know it's not HW.

IIRC these files being missing is consistent with the fact that the
images are broken.

Btw, the dists/etch/Release is not missing, the line "contrib/debian-installer/binary-amd64/Packages" is missing from that file. contrib/debian-installer/binary-amd64/Packages also exists in the image, just not in the Release file.

This is strange though. You should get an error, not a segfault.
Did you get a red screen with an error message? What happened after that?

I did get a red screen with an error message, the selection from that brought me to the main menu where I was able to save the logs and abort the install.

Cheers,
