Hey Dave, > In the meanwhile I can test your udeb. Good news: I've run some tests and looks like the udeb is working fine!! I grabbed a g-i image [1] created by Attilio and based on recent libs, unpacked the initrd.gz file contained in the iso into a directory; I then replaced the libcairo files with the ones included in your udeb and run the gtk frontend after chrooting in that directory and it worked. As second test I got the official build environment out of svn, copied the following udebs in localudebs: libcairo2-directfb-udeb_1.1.6-1_i386.udeb [3] libdirectfb-0.9-24-udeb_0.9.24-3_i386.udeb [4] cdebconf-gtk-udeb_0.100_i386.udeb [5] libgtk+2.0-directfb0-udeb_2.9-cvs20060328_i386.udeb [6] which is your udeb + officially available libdirectfb + the other udebs which need your -dev package. I then built the iso and tested it: the frontend starts up with no crashes, so I assume it is working. ciao, Davide [1] https://debian.polito.it/downloads/udebs/mini.iso [2] https://debian.polito.it/downloads/udebs/libcairo2-directfb-udeb_1.0.4-cvs20060416_i386.udeb [3] http://download.dajobe.org/debian/experimental/libcairo2-directfb-udeb_1.1.6-1_i386.udeb [4] http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/d/directfb/libdirectfb-0.9-24-udeb_0.9.24-3_i386.udeb [5] https://debian.polito.it/downloads/udebs/cdebconf-gtk-udeb_0.100_i386.udeb [6] https://debian.polito.it/downloads/udebs/libgtk+2.0-directfb0-udeb_2.9-cvs20060328_i386.udeb
