I'm sorry, after all it doesn't run in text mode!... I
was trying out some hardware-reporting programs, and I
mixed both hardinfo and hwinfo together. It's a pitty
it doesn't work on the command line... I searched for
its website to make sure (
http://hardinfo.berlios.de/wiki/index.php/Main_Page ),
and nope, it doesn't ...
There's also hwinfo:
"hwinfo is collecting information about the hardware
installed on a system. Among others, libhd contains
information about
cdrom, zip, floppy, disks and partitions, network
card, graphics card, monitor, camera, mouse, sound,
pppoe, isdn, modem,
printer, scanner, bios, cpu, usb, memory and smp.
"
It needs to be run as root, and hwinfo gives a _very_
detailed report, while 'hwinfo --short' gives a short
one.

Ah, I didn't see it, because my installation didn't
have it (used d-i beta2 netinstall cd).
