Interesting change which affects all installs at critical priority. exim4 will now no longer prompt for its config type at critical priority, bu only high priority. This means that critical priority installs will then have one less question asked to users...\o/ Of course, this doesn't affect the default install which will still see the exiM4 question. Thanks fo exim4 maintainers.... ----- Forwarded message from Debian Bug Tracking System <owner@bugs.debian.org> ----- X-Mailer: MIME-tools 5.417 (Entity 5.417) From: Debian Bug Tracking System <owner@bugs.debian.org> To: Marc Haber <mh+debian-packages@zugschlus.de> Subject: Bug#342077: marked as done (exim4-config: Please consider prompting for config type at high priority) Date: Tue, 02 May 2006 06:03:19 -0700 Your message dated Tue, 02 May 2006 05:32:16 -0700 with message-id <E1Fau36-0000vn-Eo@spohr.debian.org> and subject line Bug#342077: fixed in exim4 4.62-1 has caused the attached Bug report to be marked as done. Debian bug tracking system administrator (administrator, Debian Bugs database) From: Christian Perrier <bubulle@debian.org> To: Debian Bug Tracking System <submit@bugs.debian.org> Subject: exim4-config: Please consider prompting for config type at high priority X-Mailer: reportbug 3.18 Date: Mon, 05 Dec 2005 07:10:35 +0100 Package: exim4-config Version: 4.52-2 Severity: wishlist (CC'ing -boot as this is strongly installer-related given that exim4 is installed on all systems by default) I already imagined suggesting this for sarge but it was then a bit late. The currentl dc_eximconfig_configtype question is asked at critical priority. However, it has a sane default ("Local delivery only"), so skipping the question and using the default answer leads to a perfectly working system. So, why not lowering the question priority a little and ask it at high priority: it will still be asked on default installs and this will allow people who want to skip it in very straight installs to have one less question at critical priority. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.13-1-686 Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages exim4-config depends on: ii adduser 3.80 Add and remove users and groups ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.4.61 Debian configuration management sy exim4-config recommends no packages. (mh) * Fix grammar error in README.Debian. (Thanks, Ross Boylan) Closes: #365546 * Whennever changing major Berkeley DB versions we zap the exim hint databases in exim4-base postinst. Change the code to also delete __db.retry, __db.misc, __db.callout and __db.wait* (which afaik are Berkeley DB internal files). If these are somehow broken strange errors occur, e.g. #360696. As we are deleting the whole db, deleting these files seems to be a good idea.
