The installation finished, X works, but I've got no kde. 
apt-get install kde doesn't work.

I'm afraid that is not an installation problem.
As you don't say why apt-get install kde does not work, I cannot really 
help either. If there were errors, then it was probably a temporary 
problem as installing kde should normally work.

Closing your report as the installation itself was successful.
