Has the iptables interface been fixed yet so you can run 32bit userspace
on a 64bit kernel?  I doubt it is the only problem case.

Can a PPC even boot from the same cd as a PC?

True.  I have many.  Some mipsel, some arm, some x86 (not currently an
amd64 but hopefulyl soon), some m68k.
