Boot method: <How did you boot the installer? CD? floppy? network?> floppy to
CD I needed to make the three floppies (boot, root, and CDROM) and from there
I could install. The computer is old enough to not fully support CD boot.
When I tried, I got an isolinux error.

Comments/Problems:
I started this install (about the 5th time) and this time was determined to
get it functioning properly. The biggest problem I had was that I couldn't
seem to tell the installer how to configure my Internet connection. I have an
old router which also serves as firewall (SMC Barricade) and the entry to my
broadband connection (a dish network type setup). After getting the system to
reboot which wasn't hard, I had to search for the files to change so that the
computer would work on my network. Finally with some help from a friend who
was familiar with Unix, I found the resolv.conf file to set up the DNS
addresses.

I'm still trying to find information on how to setup a remote printer - it's
on a Windows XP computer. I've setup this same printer on another computer
running Mandrake 10.1 - it was easy. Unfortunately I'm finding it difficult
to find the tools to setup the printer.

I'm not sure if this information is useful - I'm very much a newbie with
Linux.

If you want any more information or expansion on what I've said, please feel
free to email me.

All the reported issues are outside the scope of the Debian
Installer. I actually fail to see why the resolv.conf wasn't set
properly...unless the answers to the related questions in the
installer were'nt correct.

Given that your installation was a complete success, I do as
usual with reports for successful installations: I close the bug..:-)

This does not of course mean you weren't right to report. Knowing the
installations are correct is important for the d-i team.

Many thanks for your time testing the Debian Installer and reporting
your results. Have fun with your new Debian system!
