Package: debian-installer

I installed Debian with the Sarge netinstall cdrom, version 3.1r1.
During the installation, the pcmcia networking card were recognized witho=
ut
problem.
But after the first reboot, the card wasn't brought up. The proper module=
s were
loaded, but it seems that ifupdown doesn't bring it up at startup, or whe=
n
using /etc/init.d/networking/start

Changing

mapping hotplug
   script grep
   map eth0

to

auto eth0

in /etc/network/interfaces solved the problem.
I know this isn't the official way for pcmcia cards, but mapping with hot=
plug
fails.

This problem is typically sarge-only and I doubt it would happen again
in etch...hence closing the bug report as nothing will really be done
for solving this.

However, testing with the etch installer would be nice on this
machine, if you can (for instance, installing a minimal base system in
some free space on this machine, in parallel with your now working
sarge install).

Please get the installer daily build images from
http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer.
