Comments/Problems:

At install time, the HD is believe to be /dev/sdb
so Grub has the bad entry in /boot/grub/menu.lst
(and so /etc/fstab is bad too.)

At first reboot time you will get an error like
"can not open /dev/console" from init.
(Not really clear to understand what's wrong append.)

To bypass it, you should reboot and edit the entry from grub
by pressing "e" then correct /dev/sdbX to /dev/sdaX
where X is a number which don't change.
Then press b to boot with the modified entry.

Since I only make two part, one for / and one from /home
I can do the base config without the /home mounted
(the /etc/fstab is wrong, so all part except the Root
device won't be mounted)

Finally, I fix /dev/fstab, everything is right,
except every time I install a upgrade kernel package,
entry from grub with sdb get back! (any idea to fix it ?)

Hope this report can help to improve Debian, and
many thanks to all peoples involved in this project !

Many regards,

Pierre Antoine aka Nunux.
