The real problem is not that the buttons are not translated but that somehow an important part of initialization of the frontend is skipped when no interactive dialogs (i.e. dialogs that ask a question) are shown before a progressbar is displayed. This seems to be a fairly basic flaw in the structure of the code of the frontend. The real solution is to fix this and make sure the buttons are properly initialized when the frontend is started, irrespective of what type of dialog is shown first.
