It is.

Indeed, /var/lib/cdebconf I referred to earlier was from a running
machine and console-keymaps-mac/keymap is listed -- just no choices.

Interesting point, I'll add that to my list of things to check into --
that may be my amiga problem. In this case, though, we're dealing with 
a 2.2.25 kernel (ugh).

I moved them to common-keymaps.cfg so that I could choose which keymaps
went into which image more dynamically.
