My question was referring to my original install attempt with the etch
beta 1 installer. It's a bit confusing, because I later switched to
the daily build.
The score card on disk detection:
No 2.6.12 etch beta 1 installer
Yes 2.6.12 Knoppix 4.0.2
Yes 2.6.12 current testing kernel
Yes 2.6.14 daily build installer
