The purpose of the wiki page you found is exactly to make users aware of 
problems during installation. The KDE problem is caused by massive 
updates after the release of Sarge and should be fixed within a couple of 
weeks.

As your partitioning problem was solved, we'll consider this installation 
successful and close your report.
