~ # modprobe ide-disk
Using /lib/modules/2.4.27-2-generic/kernel/drivers/ide/ide-disk.o
Segmentation fault
modprobe: failed to load module ide-disk

Started seeing this today in d-i on alpha. The alpha builds were down for a=
 few
days previously so I don't know when it started. It affects some but not all
kernel modules (ide-core, scsi_mod, qlogicisp, af_packet, de4x5, crc32,
srm_env, and unix were loaded successfully before). There is no kernel mess=
age
about it.

Makes d-i not very usable..
