Bug#326830: problem booting up



Thank you so much! and Yes I am very new to linux. I will be going out today to get a book...any suggestions? Thanks again for not slamming the noob of linux! :-)

This probably means that you did not install or wrongly configured a
graphical environment. I also deduce from your question that you are
probably completely new to linux.

I would suggest you buy a basic book on using linux.

To install a graphical environment, you should log in as root and try the
following command:
# aptitude install x-window-system-core xscreensaver kde kdm

If you did select the desktop task and it does not start up, try the
following command (again as root):
# dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86
