That is a very long delay. I doubt if I would have the patience to wait 
this out...
Does the delay still happen with the current daily builds of the installer 
(they have a 2.6.12 kernel)?

Some delay is expected here though one minute again is a bit long.

That kind of conflict is always very annoying. It is a kernel issue though 
and not really something we can fix in the installer.

We'll have to ignore that as 2.4.27 has only basic SATA support anyway and 
is probably not going to be around in the next release.

Those problems are to be expected as 2.6.8 also has only basic SATA 
support. The kernel mismatch will hopefully be solved soon, but for that 
the 2.6.12 kernel packages need to migrate to testing.
