Comments/Problems:
Two notes:
1. I had to alt-F2 to a console and manually run ntfsresize. In 99% of
cases, new-bought computers will have a Windows partition, it wouldn't
hurt to automate this. It worked flawlessly, I just think it should at
least be offered as an option in the installer.
2. X didn't detect my Unichrome (VIA) video circuitry. I had to fiddle
with X a bit to get it to work on this box. I don't know if the
upcoming move to X.org will fix this.
Overall, a quite easy installation experience. Good work, folks.

GNU Parted is a program that allows you to create, destroy,
resize, move and copy hard disk partitions. This is useful
for creating space for new operating systems, reorganising
disk usage, and copying data to new hard disks. This package
contains the Parted binary and manual page.
.
This package contains libparted, the required shared library
used by Parted. This is a cut-down package with no normal
documentation intended to be used in debian-installer.
.
Parted currently supports DOS, Mac, Sun, BSD, GPT, MIPS and
PC98 disklabels/partition tables, as well as a 'loop' (raw
disk) type which allows use on RAID/LVM. Filesystems which
are currently fully supported are ext2, ext3, fat (FAT16
and FAT32), ReiserFS (with libreiserfs) and linux-swap.
Parted can also detect and remove HFS (Mac OS), JFS, NTFS,
UFS (Sun and HP), XFS and ASFS/AFFS/APFS (Amiga) filesystems,
but cannot create, resize or check these filesystems yet.
.
Note that ReiserFS support is only enabled if you install
the libreiserfs0.3-0 package. Since libreiserfs0.3-0 has been
removed from sarge, ReiserFS support is not compiled in the
default package.

I'm not ocmpletely sure whether resizing NTFS partitions is already
available in partman or not.
Anyway, if it isn't, this is already a requested feature.

Either ways, this does not make it an installer issue, so it would be
better reporting this to the xfree86 packages, but as you mention,
it's probably not worth reporting it now anyway because of the switch
to x.org.
Given that your installation was a complete success, I do as
usual with reports for successful installations: I close the bug..:-)
This does not of course mean you weren't right to report. Knowing the
installations are correct is important for the d-i team.
Many thanks for your time testing the Debian Installer and reporting
your results. Have fun with your new Debian system!
