The above indicates that something is badly broken in the locales package; it seems locale-gen cannot find the locale definition files for english. > debconf: (TERM is not set, so the dialog frontend is not usable.) And the only reasons I can think of why you'd not get a TERM when you sshed in are 1) sshing w/o a teletype or 2) broken terminfo.. -- see shy jo
