Initial boot worked very well. But I was unable to select a proper USB
keyboard keymap. The closest I got was 'mac-usb-uk', while it should be 'mac-usb-us'. I reported a while ago this as a workaround for kernel 2.4.27, but this choice is transeferred by the installer to the target installation. In short, it means no '#' on the keyboard, but a 'pound' sign instead :-(
And that's bad because there is no documented workaround of how to change
keyboard keymap AFTER installation, from 'uk' to 'us' layout.

This is fixed in kernel 2.6.8 based netboot images, BTW.
(I mean: mac-usb-us is there and it works).

Yup, another unsuccesful report with the same 'Unable to mount CD' error.
And that's the most strange, because on VT3 I can see modules loading
without errors:

Using /lib/modules/2.4.27-2-sparc64/kernel/drivers/ide/ide-disk.o
insmod ide-disk
Using /lib/modules/2.4.27-2-sparc64/kernel/drivers/cdrom/cdrom.o
Using /lib/modules/2.4.27-2-sparc64/kernel/drivers/ide/ide-cd.o
insmod cdrom
insmod ide-cd
Using /lib/modules/2.4.27-2-sparc64/kernel/fs/isofs/isofs.o
insmod isofs

And listing /dev/ide from VT2 shows no entries at all...
There is no /dev/discs directory, too.

However, on the VT4 I can see many hw-detect messages, but saying only
that it detected some modules and that it is trying to load them.
Success is on the following module:

May 6 14:50:01 hw-detect: Detected module 'alim15x3' for 'IDE chipset support'
May 6 14:50:01 hw-detect: Trying to load module 'alim15x3'
May 6 14:50:01 kernel: ALI15X3: IDE controller at PCI slot 00:0d.0
May 6 14:50:01 kernel: ALI15X3: chipset revision 195
...
... <skipped a bit of 'Detected/Trying' pairs, without success>
...
May 6 14:50:02 hw-detect: Detected discover version1, installing discover1.
May 6 14:50:02 hw-detect: Detected hotplug support, installing hotplug.
May 6 14:50:02 hw-detect: Missing modules 'ohci1394 (Sun Microsystems Corp. RIO 1394), usb-storage (USB storage), floppy (Linux Floppy), ide-core (Linux IDE support), ide-mod (Linux IDE driver), ide-probe-mod (Linux IDE probe driver), ide-detect (Linux IDE detection), ide-generic (Linux IDE support), ide-floppy (Linux floppy)
