installing a system in such a situation requires very good knowledge of

The same problem found with other 3w-9xxx module - initrd made by the
installer does not have this module, and hence, it cannot mount root. I
suggest that installer should install initrd-tools before kernel-image
(not in the same dpkg operation) and in the gap write loaded modules list
into /etc/mkinitrd/modules. Ideally it should write only those modules
that are not included automatically, but I don't know how to query what
they are.
