Bug#287047: debian-installer: LVM, hangs while populating /dev if no disk in the 2nd CDROM drive

Package: debian-installer
Severity: normal

Hi,

I've tested the netinst image got on 20041220 for i386 and installed a lvm based
system.

I've 2 CDROM drives: /dev/hdc which is a burner with the D-I CD mounted in and
/dev/hdd which is a CDROM reader.

If there is no disk in /dev/hdd then the installer enters a endless loop
probing the CDROM (led blinking). I had to put a disk in the drive to have the
process to complete (successfully).

In /etc/lvm/lvm/conf there is a filter on /dev/cdrom:

    # Exclude the cdrom drive
        filter = [ "r|/dev/cdrom|" ]

I think a filter on the second drive should sove this problem.

Regards

Jean-Luc
