	    Comments/Problems:

I got IP number and could ping providers neme server OK, but
debian mirror was "unknown host". Also providers server was
"unknown". So I should bring (ADSL) connection up by hand with
	    pppoeconfig (or is it pppoeconf?).

Installation was quick and easy, may be "too easy" for me
and I might have missed something.
I installed base system, and got packages I need one by one
	    with aptitude.

This probably means that the IP number was provided by a DHCP server that
fails to give out addresses for nameservers. This is a known issue and
will probably be fixed in a future release. All you should have to do to
correct this, is manually enter the nameservers in /etc/resolv.conf.
You could even have done this during the installation by switching to
virtual terminal 2 (VT2).

As your network came up OK, you should not need pppoe configuration.

No, it's supposed to be easy ;-)
