Base System Installation Checklist:
[O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it

Initial boot worked: [O]
Configure network HW: [O]
Config network: [O]
Detect CD: [O]
Load installer modules: [O]
Detect hard drives: [O]
Partition hard drives: [O]
Create file systems: [ ] (used partition magic prior... didn't create
fs)
Mount partitions: [O]
Install base system: [O]
Install boot loader: [O]
Reboot: [O]

Comments/Problems:

Installed with options "linux26"
Noted the "red screen" bug noted in the Errata
First boot ran fsck (on ext3) and forced reboot
Second boot successful - taken to Debian base system configuration
Connection successful to http://debian.oregonstate.edu/ (35kb/s)
Subsequent attempts to "Configure apt" are unsuccessful (it says
"testing apt sources... http://debian.oregonstate.edu/...
http://debian.oregonstate.edu/... and returns to the system config
screen)
Re-run apt-setup - picked ftp.debian.org (250kb/s)
re-run base-config - selected desktop system
I do get a message on boot about backup superblock being
invalid--possible result of partition magic
System running well--love it!
