Thanks,

Debian-installer-version: pre-rc2 on Nov 6th 2004

Output of lspci and lspci -n:

Comments/Problems:

I repartitioned the hard drive and selected UK/British English. Apart
from that everything else was automatic.

Please note that I was able to resolve the issue by booting into the
installation using KNOPPIX and upgrading the kernel image to
kernel-image-2.4.27-1-686-smp.

This leads me to suspect a problem with the kernel image deb, possibly
the initrd image since it seems to fail at the point of booting the
kernel after the initrd part.

Hope the above info is useful. Please get in touch if you require more
info.
