Base System Installation Checklist:
[O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it

Initial boot worked:    [O]

Load installer modules: [O]

Install base system:    [O]
Install boot loader:    [E]
Reboot:                 [E]

Comments/Problems:

In order to boot from the cd, I had to choose the "noapic" option.
Upon successful installation and reboot, the grub config file didn't
include the "noapic" option. Whatever kernel paramenters are sent
to get the cd to boot should be included in the grub file.

If this isn't possible, would you please include a "safe mode"
option that turns off any options that could prevent a system
from booting?

Incidentally, the new Debian installer worked perfectly on another
laptop which doesn't have issues with apic.

This was implemented after rc1 was released.

I don't belive there's such a set of options, some will be necessary for
booting some systems and prevent others from working.
