Comments/Problems:
About midway through the first reboot, during the installation process,
the screen shifted 1 character to the left, so that the first character of
each line was off-screen and not readable. This continued through both text
mode and ncurses displays.
Following completion of the install process and a second re-boot, this
bug did not occur, and the text-mode console displayed correctly.
Display system is an ATI FireGL X1-128 video board and a Sony P1110
high-resolution analog monitor.
Do you want any specific tests run?
The installation command was
expert hw-detect/start_pcmcia=false netcfg/disable_dhcp=true
The start_pcmcia=false option had no effect. The installer asked twice
whether PCMCIA services should be started. The disable_dhcp=true option
worked correctly. I was able to go directly to static IP configuration of
eth1 and set up access to my gateway.
