The video card Silicon Motion, Inc. SM710 LynxEM (PCI id 126f0710)
should use XFree86 module vesa, not server XF86_SVGA. The problem was
reported to Skolelinux,

Here is a patch to fix it:
discover-data (1.2002.08.21-2.1) woody; urgency=low
* PCI id 126f0710 uses XFree86 module vesa, not server XF86_SVGA.
