?? Status on Debian-installer ??
I'm not currently subscribed to this list - so please reply directly.
I tried using Debian-installer about 8 months ago - back then I was building
a network install system for debian (now functional for all boot-floppies
style installs I've thrown at it - at least on those systems grub supports
the nic for). Back then I had a recurring error from the netboot and
network images "Unable to open initial console", today I just redownloaded
the latest images (from http://people.debian.org/~tfheen/d-i/images/daily/),
all of the net-install versions there have the same error still (checking
the files, I note that there is no entries in the /dev directory of the
images, after adding some entries, such as console and other useful ones it
turns out it does not even have modules installed it wants for booting -
such as vesafb and vga16fb oh well, time for plan two).
Basically I need to install completely to raid - which I was told back about
8 months ago was currently possible with debian-installer, so now I just
need to find a cd-image I can burn to install via (minimalistic is preferred
as I have a local repositry of debian), but I can't seem to find one...
Does anyone have any ideas on where I can download such an image? A tested
image would be prefered, though any image that actually will allow me to
install debian to software raid would be most welcome.
Regards,
Cassandra
