The box is fairly recent. It's a chrp architecture, it's not an oldworld
box. I had tried to boot it with an invalid CD (i.e. one which didn't have
a PReP partition), and I was gettting a nasty error at that time. So I
believe it does indeed have a hardware CD driver.
