Re: Replacing debian-installer kernel

* RP

| I'm not sure that I'm not making a foolish question but here it goes:
| how can I replace the linux kernel in a debian-installer net flavor floppy?

Yes.

| I tried it and it works... until trying to detect the hard
| disk... here it fails with some kind of printk file not found. The
| problem is with the new kernel or with the floppy?

You need to point the download retriever to somewhere it can get the
IDE modules and such. If you look at the build process of
kernel-image-2.4.20-i386-udeb it should get you going.

| I am sorry if this question does not belong in this list.

this list is the right place.
