Bug#150333: crash after configuring network gateway

That sounds like it has to be a bug in the kernel, or more specifically
the network driver you're using.  What kind of card do you have?

What does "quite recent" mean?  Are you running the woody code from CVS,
or a released set of disks from the archive?  If the latter, please give
us the actual version number.  It would also help to know which flavour
you chose.
