What is the problem? You run cfdisk (Step: partition the harddisk). Then
you choose your partition (which was D before). It is most likely
/dev/hda5 if you have one harddisk. Then you set type of it (press t) to
Linux (enter 83). Write new partition table, exit cfdisk, then format
the partition (Step: Initialise a filesystem).

Gruss/Regards,
Eduard.
