The kernel option for the Compaq Smart Array 5X is
Compaq Smart Array support
CONFIG_BLK_CPQ_CISS_DA

I would be happy to beta test as well, I'm the one that seems to need it 
really bad... :)

The option that is built into the "compact" kernel is
Compaq SMART2 support
CONFIG_BLK_CPQ_DA
At the start of my troubles, I figured this was what I needed...
