Re: Bug#132855: allow install on Compaq Servers

The kernel option for the Compaq Smart Array 5X is
Compaq Smart Array support
CONFIG_BLK_CPQ_CISS_DA

I would be happy to beta test as well, I'm the one that seems to need it really bad... :)

The option that is built into the "compact" kernel is
Compaq SMART2 support
CONFIG_BLK_CPQ_DA
At the start of my troubles, I figured this was what I needed...

Hm. A user on IRC said that this cciss devices are similar to ida. I
grep'ed for "ida" in libfdisk and dbootstrap - looks like only few
changes are needed. No idea which driver must be enabled in bf2.4
kernel, but I would change it if needed. Who has spare time and wants to
hack a bit? Thing <thing@thing.dyndns.org> volunteered as beta tester.

Gruss/Regards,
Eduard.
