anyone mind if i apply the same fix to run_silo() ?  the code involved
creates a /target/boot/vmlinux -> vmlinux-<version> when /boot is a
separate partition, this is necessary since silo reads the filesystem.

the code as is creates a /target/boot/vmlinux ->
vmlinux<binary_garbage> which will certainly result in a non-bootable
system.  

if i don't hear any objections ill probably go ahead and commit the
fix.
