Linux 2.2.18 with ide-patch applied should work.

OR
The Abit KA7-100 has four IDE channels, the two first is driven by
the HPT 370 chip and the other two is connected to the VIA controller.
It thus resembles the KT7-Raid mentioned in:
http://lists.debian.org/debian-boot-0101/msg00407.html
Try the same procedure as outlined there.
