Package: boot-floppies
Version: N/A; reported 2000-06-21
Severity: normal

You can only install the base.tgz file from cdrom, floppy, mounted or
network (http).
Now it probably isn't uncommon to have a debian mirror available via
nfs (at least install stuff) when one has more than one system.

If I'm right, slink had that option, so where did it go?

May the Source be with you.

PS: The network module was loaded and configured via dhcp (sucessfully as ifconfig shows)

After I installed the network modules (manually though) I was given
the following options:

  /dev/fd0
  /dev/fd1
harddisk : partition on the hard disk
  mounted : already mounted filesystem
  network : retrieve from network

network implies http-fetch, NFS is not available yet.

However, after installing nfs.o (by further installing sunrpc.o and lockd.o)
NFS becomes available and I get the following choices:

  /dev/fd0
  /dev/fd1
harddisk : partition on the hard disk
  mounted : already mounted filesystem
  nfs : NFS (network filesystem)
  network : retrieve from network

I guess you should simply install the nfs modules to make NFS available
to the kernel and retry.

May the Heisenbugs be with you,

	Joey
