Package: boot-floppies
Version: 2.2.8
Severity: critical

What happens is that it is impossible to install potato onto a

i386 HP Vectra VE (running slink & CorelLinux before)

and a

i386 HP NetServer 5/66 LC

using boot-floppies 2.2.8, with different hardware (ne2k-pci and hp100
ethernets).

since the only way to install it from here is via network through using a
proxy.

After specifying the URL of the base system, then the address and the port
of the proxy, I get a long time-out (typical name resolution problem
syndrome) and after that the message:

nf_http_fetchfile:: http.us.debian.org:80 couldn't be resolved, Host name
lookup failure (errno=2).

The network and web access through the proxy is OK (I even have ping and
name resolution from tty2 console).
It could be that dbootstrap tries to resolve "host:80" instead of just
"host".

I cannot install potato in this company (over 1000 people) until this bug is
fixed.
Please take care of it ASAP.
Thanks a lot.

Regards
