Bug#60173: Sparc tftpboot.img doesn't work on sun4c, root.bin images are missing
Package: boot-floppies
Version: 2.2.8
Architecture: sparc
Hi,
I tried (admittedly not very hard) to do a potato install on a
SparcStation 2.
First, the tftpboot.img doesn't seem to work. I set it up to netboot
from this, and got the following result:
WARNING: Unable to determine keyboard typeSPARCstation 2, No Keyboard
ROM Rev. 2.2, 32 MB memory installed, Serial #4230298.
Ethernet address 8:0:20:e:1d:49, Host ID: 55408c9a.
Testing 1 megs of memory. Still to go 0
Type b (boot), c (continue), or n (new command mode)

ok boot net

TILO
Booting Linux...
It pauses for a long time at the 'TILO', then freezes (I can't halt it
back to the firmware, I have to power-cycle it) at 'Booting Linux...'
I sort of suspect that it's trying to boot a sun4u kernel.
Also, it's not possible to install by booting vmlinux-a.out from the
net and then using the root.bin, since the root.bin files didn't seem
to get included in the release :)
