Doing this worked - I used fdisk/mke2fs/mount/mkdir to get the
partitions mounted before preceding with dbootstrap.
Only one other thing failed: copying the kernel over dbootstrap just
hung on a blue screen. This was remidied by flipping to console
mounting my custom boot disk and copying "linux" to /target/vmlinuz
then killing the dbootstrap process and continuing on as normal.
