Wasn't there a proposal of making the woody BF entirely on
debconf? This would give us instant UI-independence, web-based
installation control (duh, how? shipping a minimal server in a
custom disk image?), and other stuff.

(Then, as was said, it's a matter of having a good NanoX-based
debconf front-end)
