I don't know, but Nano-X (the X emulation API) is still there.
And, in its current form, Nano* runs on fb, X and svgalib,
which is good too.
(Clarification: I subscribed to nanogui mostly to help Ben out
with the GUI install; then, he left, and I switched into lurk
mode instead of unsubscribing, promising myself I'd get back to
GUI install when I have time, which didn't happen).
