fixed some of the more *egregious* problems in the release rule, two
of which were just added today.
At this point, the cruftiness and nastiness of this makefile is one of
the most critical problems of boot-floppies. I wish someone who knew
something about Makefiles and respected good makefiles would fix this
thing, and fix it correctly (more heavy use of conditionally defined
variables, for instance). This makefile should be *half* the size it
is now, with one place to set per-architecture variables (such as
disk sizes built) and *proper* dependancy system (perhaps allowing
parallel builds).
