I got round this by compiling a vger kernel. I've now run into problems
with newt0.25 vs newt0.30 (hacked around), a broken mke2fs which
apparently produces filesystem images which can't be mounted on other
systems, and some problems with an outdated list of packages to install
(kbd-data now seems to be in console-tools-data). I assume I have a
woefully out of date copy of boot-floppies and have duplicated work done
elsewhere. Is there anonymous CVS access to the latest kit?
